Yarn

This is the yarn that I want to use to make a shawl. Wollmeise 80/20 Sockenwolle in We're Different Pfefferminz Prinz. But first I have to wind it. I have an armchair, which has the perfect back size for winding (much better than using tuna tins or glasses to wrap the yarn round) but 500 yards is still intimidating.

Hi Sarah,

What pattern will you be using for the shawl? That yarn is so breathtaking!

I have never wound yarn from a twisted skein, how did you learn to do it?

Hi Rebekah,
I think I'm going to make a Multnomah - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/multnomah but I haven't quite decided!

I don't know if I really 'learnt' how to wind yarn from a twisted skein. I just bought one, untwisted it and then realized that you had to wrap it round something so that it didn't get tangled.
